ARA Luncheon – Monday, October 3rd 11:30

Dear ARA Members,

Our next ARA luncheon will be held on October 3rd, 2022, on the Alcon campus in the Crossroads Conference Center (old Alcon cafeteria). Our guest speaker will be one of our members, Fred Schneiweiss, Doctor of Pharmacy, Director, Pharmacoepidemiology, Alcon R&D. Fred retired in 2014.  He enjoys travel, good wine, good food, good jokes. Hates packing before traveling, TV commercials, people who drink and drive, and Vladimir Putin.

The topic of his talk is “Everything that you ever wanted to know about the Epidemiology of COVID”. When the pandemic began, there were daily news reports about the epidemiology of the disease, risks associated with the disease, and CDC changes (or flip-flops depending on how you look at it). It’s enough to almost drive one insane. Fortunately, we worked for a company that had a Pharmacoepidemiology group. You just didn’t know it. This brief presentation will cover the highlights of epidemiology and give you the background you need to understand how scientific information on the pandemic (and the world around you) can make sense.

If you want to attend, please make your reservations no later than September 21st. We need to know how many of you are attending this catered event so we can accommodate everyone.  Please email me at pcappelletti@alcon-ara.com or leave a voicemail on our Alcon number, 817-615-2875.

Sign-in will start at 11:30am, the buffet opens at noon and the program starts at 12:50pm. We’ll wrap up by 3:00pm.

As usual for our quarterly luncheons, there is no charge for members and $10 for guests. If you haven’t paid your $10 dues for 2022, you can do so at check in.

Don’t forget to bring your Alcon Retirees Gold card to get onto campus. Enter at the Main Gate as usual.

I’m looking forward to seeing you!

President, Alcon Retirees Association
