Fort Worth Sister Cities
Dear Fellow Alcon Retirees:
I’m sure you’ve heard of the Fort Worth Sister Cities International
organization and the wonderful work it has done in enhancing the
relationships between our city and region to many other parts of the
world from Latin America to Europe, Asia and Africa
But do you
know how fun and exciting it is to become a member of that
organization? Read the following extracts from the web page of
FWSCI and see:
Throughout the year, the Fort Worth Sister Cities calendar includes
unique and exciting events highlighting culture, cuisine, art and
entertainment from our sister cities. Activities are held at many
locations throughout Fort Worth to create and celebrate international
friendships in a fun, casual and educational atmosphere.
Fort Worth Sister Cities offers its members a unique opportunity to
travel with official delegations to one or more of our sister cities each
year. As a Fort Worth Ambassador, you will enjoy many unique
experiences. Delegates may attend events held in their honor and
are able to exchange customs and friendships with families that
home-host them during their visit. Through pre-travel mixers, you can
meet your travel companions and discover how to make the most of
your visit by learning the cultural protocol and traditions of their cities
to which you will travel.
Alcon has been a corporate sponsor of FWSCI for many years and a
number of Alcon employees and retirees are among its members.
Former Alcon CEO Tim Sear is a Director Emeritus on the
organization’s board. The FWSCI annual year-end gala (free to all
members) is traditionally held in the Schollmaier Auditorium on the
Alcon Campus in December.
Membership in Fort Worth Sister Cities is offered at many levels to
meet the needs of youths, individuals, community organizations
and businesses. Individual adult memberships start at $50.00
annually. Would you like to sign up for a membership online?
